Saturday brings a busy Premier League programme, and we are covering two of the day’s games: Everton’s trip to Bournemouth in the 3pm slot and Newcastle at Tottenham in the evening game. Everton opened their campaign with a 2-0 home win over Crystal Palace, while Tottenham were beaten 3-0 at Brentford and it already feels like the pressure building.

With one league game played, the numbers behind this weekend’s positions still lean on the closing weeks of last season. One of our three positions sits in the goals markets, with the other two on the match odds and the Asian Handicap.

AFC Bournemouth v Everton (3pm UK)

The market leans to the hosts at the Vitality Stadium: Bournemouth are 2.05, the draw 3.60 and Everton 3.55. Everton arrive off that 2-0 win over Palace, while Bournemouth led 1-0 at Manchester City before losing 2-1 late on.

Full-time xG comes in at 1.10 for Bournemouth against 1.39 for Everton, a 2.49 combined total. Bournemouth’s last ten at home read five wins, three draws and two defeats, while Everton’s away form returns four wins, two draws and four defeats with 1.5 goals’ worth of chances created per game. The timing tables are worth a look before kick-off: eight of Everton’s fourteen recent goals have come after the hour, and Bournemouth have conceded six of their eleven in the final 15 minutes. It all points towards the away side of the market this afternoon.
